River Rescue Clean Up - Forester Creek
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Forester Creek
8665 Argent Street,
Santee CA 92071
Looking for a volunteer opportunity that allows you to support a healthy river in a hands-on way while interacting with a group of like-minded people? The San Diego River Park Foundation's River Rescue team works diligently to remove an average of 2,000 pounds out of the riverbed at every clean-up, and over 200,000 pounds removed last year!
Every Wednesday and Saturday the River Rescue team does just that! This Saturday, they are looking for additional support for the River Rescue team to clean Forester Creek after the recent rains. This particular section of Forester Creek is often one of the most polluted sections of the river due to the concrete channel section of the river meeting the natural riverbed, leading to an accumulation of stormwater debris. They have an urgent need to clean up this pollution and could use your help! At these events volunteers should expect to get dirty, physically exert themselves, occasionally trek through terrain, and work with an amazing group of people!
Volunteers must be 18+.
Please park anywhere on Argent St or Prospect Ave. Please do not park in the brewery parking lot.
