Finance Department
The Finance Department manages financial matters affecting all City departments, including revenues, expenditures, investments, accounting and bond debt. That includes overseeing the City's payroll and purchasing. It's also responsible for long-range financial planning, debt administration, and management of City investments.
The department also processes parking citations, business licenses and security alarm permits.
In addition to monitoring the city's fiscal health, the department prepares an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. It also oversees the drafting of a city budget and five-year Capital Improvement Program that is adopted after review by the public and City Council. Special assessment districts financing, such as landscape maintenance districts, are also under the department's purview.
City of Santee's Director of Finance, who also serves as the City Treasurer, reviews staff reports and assesses the fiscal impact of agenda items brought before the City Council.
