Permits & Forms

  1. Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) – An additional dwelling unit on a property with an existing main residence. Includes attached, detached, and junior ADU’s.
  2. Commercial Alteration – A tenant improvement and/or an addition to an existing commercial space. Includes demolition, accessory structures (sheds/garages), electrical vehicle charging stations, pool/spa, reroofs, signs, TI’s, and modifications to wireless communication sites.
  3. Commercial New – A new commercial use building. Includes industrial buildings, restaurants, care facilities, shell buildings, storage facilities, and new wireless communication sites.
  4. Electrical – A permit for any electrical work outside of the replacement of fixtures in already approved receptacles. Includes any new circuits, wiring, and modifications to existing or new electrical panels.
  5. Mechanical – A permit for any mechanical system that provides heating or cooling and the associated duct work. Includes A/C, FAU’s, wall heaters, mini-split’s…etc.
  6. Plumbing – A permit for any new piping, modification to existing piping, or repair of piping. Includes all gas/sewer/water systems such as water heaters (tank or tankless), purification systems, water softeners, sewer cleanouts…etc.
  7. Residential Alteration – An alteration and/or addition to an existing residential space. Includes interior remodels, additions, accessory structures (shed, garages), patio covers, decks, pool/spa, electrical vehicle chargers, foundation repairs, reroofs, siding, and windows.
  8. Residential New – New residential dwellings. Includes attached/detached single family dwellings, master planned communities, and multifamily high/low rise apartment buildings.
  9. Solar/Photovoltaic Systems and Batteries – Includes residential and commercial photovoltaic systems and batteries.
  10. SolarAPP Solar/Photovoltaic Systems – State of California permitting program for simple residential roof mounted photovoltaic systems. May include batteries and a main panel upgrade (if included a SDG&E work order is required).
