East County Advanced Water Purification Project Update

The East County Advanced Water Purification Project construction which has been ongoing along Mast Boulevard and Fanita Parkway since late 2023, has several areas of the trench line on Mast Boulevard between Halberns Boulevard and Fanita Parkway that have settled in the last few weeks which require repair. The City is working with the East County Advanced Water Purification Joint Powers Authority to resolve this issue and make permanent repairs to Mast Boulevard as soon as possible.

NOTICE: New State Law - No Parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk

Effective January 1, 2025, the state of California passed Assembly Bill 413 (the “Daylighting” Law), which requires a clear zone around crosswalks to reduce traffic accidents. Section of the Vehicle Code, CVC 22500(n), now prohibits the stopping, standing, or parking of a vehicle within 20 feet (from the approaching direction of travel side) of any marked or unmarked crosswalk anywhere in California.
